Some aspects of Obama’s “pacific pivot” in the US foreign policy

This paper analyzes the national strategy of the United States - the “pacific pivot" of the Obama’s administration. The reorientation of the US foreign policy toward the Asia-Pacific region is discussed. Also the author investigates the budget and the composition of the US Army in the context of new line-up of powers. The study suggests that the Navy and the US Air Force play the key role in supporting the mission in the Asia-Pacific region, which creates an additional incentive to reduce the field army.
