About new populism and globalization (several comments)

The author raises the question of the need to revise a number of political science concepts in the conditions of a deep systemic crisis. The causes of modern crisis phenomena cannot be explained with the help of a model of paradoxical progress, as the authors of the analytical report of the US National Intelligence Council «Global trends: paradoxes of progress» do. The growth of new populism in conjunction with communication and network links, on the one hand, and the archaization of society, on the other, calls into question the ability of traditional institutions of the western model of democracy to cope with the challenges of modern society. A single global world, the author writes, is possible only in the diversity of cultures, religions and identities.
