About the transfer of needs and wishes to another accessible object

The article is devoted to the analysis of different points of view on the "replacement" of the need, due to the conscious or unconscious replacement of one need for another in order to get rid of the feeling of discomfort caused by an unsatisfied need. The article notes that the individual rarely thinks about the reasons for their desires and aspirations. As a result, it becomes possible to implement primitive forms of action, similar to the behavior of adaptive biological systems, which, by trial and error, reach a state of satisfaction. The question of replacing a need develops at the level of choice of motives for action, and not at the level of determining the need: “strong” or “weak. In this case, it is possible to replace the need by defining for oneself an alternative version of a number of motives, but not to the extent that one can cancel the need itself, which contradicts the biological purpose of human existence.
