The article attempts to identify and analyze the socio-economic, socio-cultural, political-cultural, ethno-national, confessional characteristics of the Persian Gulf region in general, and the six Arab monarchies that make it up - Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Oman -especially. The author focuses on identifying common characteristics that unite them into a single ethno-national and geopolitical community and, at the same time, aspects that undermine any attempts that are aimed at transforming the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Persian Gulf, which was originally conceived as organization of economic cooperation, in a political union.
