Concerning the right of nations to self-determination in the context of globalization

The article considers the problems of international laws implementation in exercising of the right of a nation to self-determination in the context of globalization by case study of Crimea. Collision character of the international normative legal framework is emphasized. Various opinions considering the problem have been analyzed, and it is concluded that strict compliance with the international agreements is essential. The author believes, the referendum and following integration of Crimea into Russia are legitimate, since they had been implemented in accordance with the international legal framework.
