Problems of pilgrimage tourism in Bashkortostan

The article discusses the problems of religious and pilgrimage tourism in Russia and its regions. Pilgrimage tours as a tourism tendency is a relatively new phenomenon, despite the fact that people began to make pilgrimage tours in ancient times. Bashkortostan is a multinational Republic. The most numerous believers in the Republic are Orthodox Christians and Muslims. The authors consider the history of emergence and the main objects of Orthodox and Muslim pilgrimage in Bashkortostan. Despite the growing popularity of pilgrimage, most tours to the Holy places of Bashkortostan Republic are of private character. According to the data analysis of travel agencies activities on the organization of Orthodox pilgrimage tours, there are no travel companies currently in Bashkiria engaged in the development, promotion and implementation of pilgrimage tours, especially in domestic areas.
