On the food security of the rural population of the regions of the Russian Federation

In recent years, a clear tendency has appeared for curtailing the production of milk and meat at the rural population households which leads to decline in these products self-sufficiency among the rural population. Following the decline in real incomes of the rural population this trend aggravated the problem of physical and economic accessibility of the rural population to the nutritionally most significant products in many regions of the country. At the state level, a socially significant problem of food supply to the rural population was identified. In this regard, it is proposed for the system of food security of the rural population to be dealt with separately in the current system of food supply to the population of the country. The structure of the system of socio-economic development of the rural territories that exists in the research methods and includes economic, social and environmental blocks should additionally include the fourth block (subsystem) - food security of the rural population.
