About the forecast of the development of Yeniseisk at the beginning of the XX century. To the 400th anniversary of the city

The results of the research of archival documents revealed by the authors opening problems of the development of one of the oldest Siberian cities - Yeniseisk, became most aggravated at the beginning of the XX century were presented in the study. The activity of local authorities directed on the search of ways which could promote a city exit from a crisis economic situation was shown. Unique and little-known documents testify that at the beginning of previous century the researchers connected the forecasts of the development of Yeniseisk with exploitation of natural resources of Priyeniseysky Region and all Siberia which assumed construction of the railroads and the organization of regular movement of vessels for the Northern Sea Route. According to the supporters of moving-forward the idea, Yeniseisk should be turned into large seaport and trade transit point between Europe and Siberia.
