About the role of value chains in the development of the Russian economy

Among the factors limiting the development of Russian territories, a special place is occupied mainly by the raw material nature of industrial production and the weak involvement of regions and firms in intra-country value chains, formed as a result of market reforms of the 1990s. the Situation is aggravated by dependence on energy demand on world markets. At the moment, Russia remains a loser, as it is included in the low-income supply links of global value chains and extremely limited use of intermediate imports for the production and export of goods with a deeper degree of processing, Against this background, the lengthening of domestic value chains is one of the priorities of state policy. Meanwhile, it is the policy of the state that can become a decisive factor in the formation of favorable conditions for the unification of economic entities in the value chain. The article proposes a rethinking of the role of the state in the formation of Russian value chains, the algorithms of promotion of the economic entity to their higher-yielding links. As the most important directions of development of chains of the added value branches of oil refining and mechanical engineering are offered.
