On the state of making road safety in the Donbass territory in 1954-1955

The article reveals the organizational and legal aspects of ensuring road safety in 1954-1955 in the territory of Donbass. On the basis of little-known archival documents and materials, the features of countering accident rate in road transport in the Voroshilovgrad and Stalin regions are investigated. Through a rigorous analysis of statistical data, the general state of road safety is revealed. The interaction of local Soviet and party bodies with the State Automobile Inspectorate in the field of road safety in the region is illustrated.
