The paper concerns the actual situation in modern studies of byzantine theology, especially in Psellos studies. So it describes the contents of Michael Psellos Theologica and some of his compositions published there. We should say that many modern scholars both Western and Russian make their researches in the field of Psellos studies. Tey are L. Westerink, F. Lauritzen, D. O' Meara, J. Duffy, L. Benakis, T. A. Šukin, A. V. Larionov, A. V. Barmin, and others. As for Soviet byzantine studies, it was interested in Psellos only as byzantine historian and polymath. Tere is no theological and philosophical maters in the books about Psellos writen by Ya. N. Lubarsky and P. V. Bezobrazov. But V. E. Valdenberg and V. N. Beneshevich - as representatives of the ‘old Russian scholar tradition' - paid their great atention to theological and philosophical ideas of Psellos. We should also mention that some Psellos' theological compositions were translated into Russian by the archimandrite Ambrose (Pogodin) in the late 1990s. Tat's pity that the huge part of Psellos' theological and philosophical heritage has not been translated yet. And that is why many Russian scholars and students both of secular and theological institutes and academies do not know about Psellos' theological writings. Tis article deals with these maters in the context of co-existence of different ideological lines in Hellenistic and Christian traditions in kind of drama of and problematics «continuity - discontinuity» in Greek byzantine culture. In the end of article one can found the list of the last bibliography on Psellos' theological studies (2000-2016).
