The perspectives of establishment of biosphere reserve «Bashkirian Ural» under the auspices of UNESCO on the basis of five compact arrangement of specially protected nature reserves in the Bashkortostan Republic are discussed. The role of biosphere reserve for the conservation of biodiversity and socio-economic development is explained.
