This article reviews upper age limit requirements and other enrollment terms that are imposed on the candidates for service in internal affairs agencies and other law enforcement bodies. The paper studies the legal documents containing the specified provisions. The article identifies the problems emerging during the law enforcement. The author proposed to amend the existing legislation by setting the uniform requirements for candidates to serve in law enforcement bodies and provide an opportunity to nominate the candidates for service in internal affairs agencies (who worked as the prosecutor or belonged to class rank of justice) for special or military rank or eliminate this requirement from the law. The research urgency is caused by the fact that the abovementioned candidates are subject to various requirements such as the upper age limit to be recruited and the presence of special or military ranks among people who do not meet the requirements of the age limit. This leads to their social and legal inequality and prevents the entry on duty of the professional employees who have reached the upper age limit but want to continue their service in law enforcement bodies.
