The article is devoted to the description of the results of an econometric study of the dependence of the influence of investments on the socio-economic indicators of the port region of Russia and their economic interpretation. Econometric modeling was carried out on the basis of statistical data for 11 regions of Russia for 2010-2019. Various econometric models were evaluated by the least squares method, they were compared and the best ones were selected in terms of statistical quality. The Gauss-Markov conditions are checked. Robust standard errors resistant to heteroscedasticity were used. Due to the significant features of the development of the regional economy and the differences in the nature of the inflow of investments in the port regions, various types of linear and nonlinear models were obtained. The groups of regions by the type of dependence of socio-economic indicators on investments in port infrastructure have been identified. The description of the economic meaning of the estimates of the regression coefficients for the constructed models is given. The complex economic sense of the estimates of the regression coefficients for nonlinear models is presented. Analysis and processing of statistical information were carried out using the Gretl and Microsoft Excel software package. These results can be used to study the impact of investments on the socio-economic indicators of port regions and to predict them.
