On the Volga-Don variant of Poltavka culture

The paper deals wrth the problem of specfic way of cultural and Mstorical development of the Middle Bronze Age Catacomb culture tribes іn the eastern part of their territory - іn the Volga-Don steppes. The Volga-Don group !s characterized іn detaHs (wrth spetial attention to the archak features іn the burial rite, origmal pottery wrth comb ornamentation related to Poltavka culture). The authors come to the conclusion that the Volga-Don population did not belong to the cultural circle of the coeval Catacomb tribes. The group differs also from the "classical" Poltavka antiqrnties of the trans-Volga regwn and should be considered a spetific variant of Poltavka culture.
