On the wave nature of the plastic deformations macroscopic localization in metals

Бесплатный доступ

The basic laws of the macroscopic localization of plastic deformation in metals and alloys tension are considered. It is shown that the macrolocalization effect is common to all metals and alloys as in the mono- as polycrystalline states and is appeared at all stages of plastic flow, regardless of the crystal lattice and the deformation mechanism (dislocation slipping, twinning). The wave nature of strain localization is satisfied. Characteristics of the waves of localized deformation such as propagation speed, wavelength and dispersion are discussed.
