On the upbringing of tolerant linguistic personality in the poly-ethnic space (on the example of the republic of Buryatia)

The article is devoted to the problem of upbringing a tolerant linguistic personality in the poly-ethnic space. The problem is connected with the fact that in Russia there are some Russian-speaking people of different nationalities who can’t speak their native language. As a result of conducted leveling the issue of the ratio between individual’s language and his nationality has arisen. On the example of the Republic of Buryatia the necessity of formation the students’ cultural studies competence is argued. The authors think over on the possibility of the introduction of cultural literacy in the block of disciplines of national-regional component and they also depict a special educational role of linguistic pedagogy. The article considers the specific issues of new branches of linguistics - sociolinguistics, cultural linguistics that students should acquire. The expanding horizons will promote cultural literacy for upbringing a tolerant linguistic personality, capable of respecting cultural traditions of different peoples living in the same space.
