On the possibility of local measurements of solar corona electron density from SOHO / LASCO data

One of cardinal methods for determining the electron density Ne in the solar corona is based on existence of the integral relationship between Ne and white corona characteristics. At that, the electron distribution in the corona is considered to be spherically symmetric that is rough approximation for the real corona. As shown, the local electron density in coronal streamer belt under certain conditions can be determined without using this simplifying assumption.
