The objective of the work is to assess the biological impact of the domestic high-purity FSO on intraocular structures of an animal eye depending on the packing period. The work was carried out on 36 rabbits (72 eyes) when the dissected vitreous humors were substituted for fluoridated silicone oil after subtotal vitrectomy. 0,9% NaCI solution was used as a means of control. Silicone oil and perfluoro-decalin were used for comparative assessment of the biological activity of fluoridated silicone oil. On the 14lh and 30th days a morphological survey of the intraocular structures was performed. The results of the experimental research evidence that VRS with the vitreous chamber packing with domestic high-purity fluoridated silicone oil does not cause any severe changes of the retina within the period of observation of up to 1 month.
