Female presence in Russian literature in the ХIХ c.: literary canon and female authors

In recent times, the importance of participation of women in the literary process has been a question under active discussion both home and abroad. In this paper the problem of reception of female literary creation is considered. In a material of critical literature reviews, epistolary and memoirs of contemporary writers, the main trends of perception and understanding of female creation are traced; the criteria for evaluating female writing and the reasons for the marginalization of female authors are identified.
