The article considers the results of an empirical study of the characteristics of aggressive behavior of convicted women with young children. The purpose of the study was to study the aggressive behavior of convicted women held in places of detention with young children and to determine the directions of their psychological support within the framework of psychological correction. Study sample: convicted women with young children and those without young children. A total of 270 convicts participated in the study. Of these, 135 convicted women with young children and 135 convicted women without young children. During the study, testing was used using the "Aggression Level Questionnaire" methodology (A. Bass, A. Darki). A nonparametric criterion, the Mann-Whitney U-test, was used for statistical analysis. An empirical study was conducted on the basis of correctional colonies of general regime for women, where children's homes function. Empirical research has revealed a high level of physical, indirect, and verbal aggression, irritation, negativism, resentment, suspicion, and guilt among convicted women with young children. In convicted women who do not have young children, these forms of aggression are not pronounced or are on an average level of severity. Aggressive behavior in convicted women with young children manifests itself mainly in the form of verbal aggression. Less pronounced, but nevertheless at an above-average level, were such forms of aggressive behavior as: physical and indirect aggression, irritation, resentment, suspicion and guilt. Such a form of aggression as negativism is least pronounced among convicted women held in places of detention with young children. Knowledge of the peculiarities of aggressive behavior of convicted women with young children will allow us to develop a psychocorrectional program aimed at reducing their aggressive manifestations in the behavior of this category of convicts.
