At present, there is no definite answer to the question of the necessity of co-storage of the ileocecal valve (ICI) when performing surgical interventions on the intestine. Modern ideas about the functional significance of this part of the digestive tract, and especially of the ICI and the terminal segment of the ileum, are highly controversial. Given all aspects of the surgeon should strive, if possible, to keep the ileocecal intestine and even resort to reconstructive interventions in cases of abnormality of the anatomical structure and function of the CI. The article presents the analysis of clinical cases describing various operations for the preservation of the ileocecal complex.
