On the results of monitoring the project activity of socially oriented public organizations of the Republic of Karelia in 2015-2017

Along with the mapping of federal trends in state support of socially oriented non-profit organizations (hereinafter - SO NPO), it is relevant to analyze the specifics of the involvement of civil society institutions in the implementation of social policy at the regional level. At the same time, it should be noted that the system of grant support for SO NPOs, formed in 2011-2013, underwent significant modification in 2017 due to the formation of a single Fund, the operator of presidential grants for the development of civil society, the procedures for applying and summarizing results were simplified and made more transparent. Comparison of the results of the participation of the Republic of Karelia’s SO NPOs in competitions of Presidential grants for NGOs in 2013-2016 and 2017-2018 makes it possible to identify the effects of updated forms of state support of civil society institutions at the regional level. The first effect concerns the number of participating organizations: in 2013-2016 106 organizations applied for 12 grants, 21 of them from districts of the Republic, and in 2017-2018 212 organizations competed for grants, 40 of them represented district SO NPOs...
