The article is concerned with the evolution of totalitarian discourse in Soviet epoch (in the years of 1953, 1962 and 1982). The economic news articles published in central and regional newspapers in the stated periods were analyzed. The method of research was based on the combination of the functional-stylistic approach to the text analysis and discourse analysis. The results of the research showed that an invariant thematic model was implemented in the texts of the articles at those times. Typical ideological meanings (ideologems) are realised in this model. For this purpose a set of linguistic means is used that shows a specific speech (discourse) organization determined by the ideological tasks given by the Communist Party.
