This paper has been prepared in relation with the work to issue a catalogue of the coins minted by the Grand Principality of Moscow under the rule of Vasily I Dmitriyevich (1389–1425). More than 8600 coins minted in Moscow and provincial centers of the Principality of Moscow are dated to the early period of the reign of this grand prince. The paper publishes the coins of Vasily I featuring a human head and a hand holding a saber that were minted in provincial centers. A total of 24 coins of this type have been documented, namely, 20 dengas and 4 half-dengas. The dengas are divided into eight variants, whereas the half-dengas are represented by one variant. The paper also reviews classification, topography of the finds and the chronology of mintage of such coins.
