The article is devoted to the idea of state failure in the context of its networkization. The author shows specifics of both the hierarchical network approach and the non-hierarchical path of development. If the first one acts as a part of the state, then in the second case it is a part of the network. The author answers the question: which is higher, the network or the state? An ontological approach is applied to the analysis of the specifics of the networked Russian statehood, its image of the future in the Russian Federation. The article gives a conclusion about the balance of the legal and social state with the network state. The author attempts to understand how the hierarchies of network statehood coexist with non-hierarchy; what are their dominants, the seizure of power priorities or the seizure of political meanings? The author critically analyzes the network expansion, which affects the change in the picture of the world, including the Russian statehood. The article considers the specificity of the collision of ontologies of network expansion and network Russian statehood and the consequences of this for the Russian Federation.
