Special features of the second foreign language (SFL) teaching are presented in the given article. At the same time linguistic features necessary for the successful SFL acquisition should be considered; basic criteria while choosing the SFL textbook are singled out; educational -methodical complex «Themen aktuell» used for SFL teaching is analyzed.
