Reinforcement of applied preparation of state and municipal administration specialists at the department of economics and public administration

The described article is devoted to the problems of future civil servants training on Economics and Management Faculty of the Buryat State University. In 1996 the new Faculty was opened and the teaching of students specializing in civil service for state and local authorities. Ten years passed since then and numerous problems aroused within the educational process. These problems are common for all higher educational establishments involved in civil servants training. One of the main existing problems is the domination of theoretical subjects in the curriculum, the lack of practical skills courses. Another problem is a low feedback between the faculty and the authorities, both state and local. The deanery, professors and lecturers have taken the necessary measures to diminish the negative influence of the above mentioned problems upon the training process quality. Among these measures are : the introduction of "Practical Management" and "Training Management" courses, the enforcement of motivation work among the students and the improvement of feedback with alumni.
