Existing threats to national security, and above all those related to the violent overthrow of legitimate public institutions of power, the seizure and rejection of state territories, dictate the need to improve existing mechanisms to counter these phenomena. The identification of social relations that are damaged by the forcible seizure of power is the basis for understanding the social essence, nature and degree of social danger of these attacks, as well as the starting point for developing new approaches to both the criminal-legal assessment of this phenomenon and the formation of appropriate criminal-legal prohibitions. The article analyzes the scientific views on the definition of the object of crime-the violent seizure of power, and also substantiates the author's position on the definition of the content of objects of violent seizure of power and gives their definitions. State power and state (national) security are identified as the main elements of the objects of crimes.
