The national security of Russia in conditions of its arctic zone development

The article examines the existing threats of development of subjects of Russia withinthe Arctic zone, from the point of view of ensuring national and economic securityof the country. Main risks in the implementation of investment projects in this areaare as follows: political aspects, the lack of clear legal norms, the lack of a developedresearch base, lack of development of infrastructure along the Northern sea route,insufficient funding, low population density. The identified problems of the Arcticand Polar areas development marked the consequences for their solutions and theways of overcoming them.
