Ensuring the sustainable development of a tourist destination through the activation of event tourism

The features of the development of tourist destinations from the point of view of compliance with the principles of sustainable development are considered. It is noted that in the current sanctions conditions, the main type of tourism in the Russian Federation is domestic tourism. Ensuring the sustainability of the development of Russian destinations is currently possible by increasing domestic tourist flows and their even distribution in time. It is shown that the activation of regional event tourism will ensure the sustainability of tourism development within the host destination and by leveling the effect of seasonality in tourism.
