The influence of new selenoorganic preparation DAFS-25 on growth, development and metabolism in young cattle during raising and fattening was investigated. The authors determined the concentration of selenium, diene conjugates and catalase activity in blood serum of different ages calves in connection with dose of preparation in ration. It was shown, that optimum dose of DAFS-25 in calves ration is 0,2 mg/kg of live weight (once per 2 weeks). This dose stabilized the selenium concentration in calves blood, leads to decrease of formation of products of lipids peroxidation and activation of antioxidative system, and as result - increase of liveweight gain.
