Environment enrichment of some felines (Felidae) in captivity

We present new data of studies of the effect of different ways olfactory environment enrichment on behavior and level of stress tigers (Panthera tigris), jaguars (Panthera onca), lions (Panthera leo) and snow leopards (Uncia uncia) in captivity. Indicators were dynamics of the main forms of activity of the animals (including pathological), and derivatives of cortisol levels in fecal samples which determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Investigations were carried out in the Moscow Zoo and in the Leningrad Zoo.
