Mass defense work in the Soviet Far East in the late 1920's-early 1940's

The article is devoted to the process of creation and development of defense system among the civil population of the Far East of the USSR during the prewar period. The author analyzes the main types of activities of defense societies, party and Soviet authorities aimed at the promotion of military-defense knowledge and skills among the civilians.
