Justification of the need to improve active ventilation installations for grain drying during floor storage

In the context of growing grain harvests in Russia and a lack of storage capacity, there is a need to ensure the safety of the crop on the basis of agricultural holdings. Cereal prices are seasonal. Many growers try to store crops until the price rises, thereby increasing profitability. The ability to carry out post-harvest processing and storage of crops in the conditions of their own farms allows the manufacturer to significantly reduce the cost of production. The need for grain drying as soon as possible is dictated by compliance with the requirements for safe storage periods and ensuring the safety of the crop. Restrictions for producers in the processing of grain may be due to limited resources for the purchase of drying equipment, space, for the placement of intermediate storage warehouses, and energy capacities. This paper provides an overview of the applied grain storage technologies; comparison of installations used for grain drying by active ventilation during floor storage; possible directions for improving the considered installations are given; conclusions are made about the appropriate directions for further research. The use of electrophysical methods of influence can make it possible to reduce unit costs while increasing the productivity of equipment. In addition, the problem of rational placement of installations and their modes of operation should be solved, taking into account the above restrictions.
