Reasonable professional risk employees of security and convoy units of the police in the performance of their official duties

The article is devoted to the study of the issues of reasonable professional risk of employees of security and convoy units of the police in the performance of their official duties in situations involving risk (emergency incidents). The emphasis is made on the situations of necessary defense, infliction of harm during the detention of a person who committed a crime and extreme necessity. The paper analyzes the provisions of normative legal acts of the Russian Federation, law enforcement practice and legal literature in this area. This allowed the authors to conclude that, firstly, officers of security and guard units of the police have the right to risky acts in their professional activities, secondly, this right is conditioned by the presence of socially useful purpose, as well as the obligation to be sufficiently prepared for their official activities in any conditions, thirdly, the successful solution of other mentioned problems with the help of scientific research will facilitate the legal assessment of the validity of risky actions of officers of security and guard units.
