The article deals with the unknown pages of the Civil War in the Far East of Russia. Based on the new archival sources stored in the Russian State Historical Archive of the Far East and for the first time introduced into scientific usage, the authors study the activities of the guerrillas in providing troops with weapons, ammunition, medicines, fodder, food by means of criminal methods, often degenerating into looting and pillaging. The authors reveal facts of illegal actions of guerrilla teams and categorize them highlighting the main groups of crimes: murder, hostage taking, robbery of peasants and entrepreneurs, raids on postal and telegraph offices and local authorities. The article also discusses activities of the Kolchak’s militia, noting it as inefficient.
