Image: ratio of concepts

The article examines the content of the concept “image” by considering linguists’ various approaches to this problem. The research methodology is aimed at applying a comprehensive analysis of the formulations and definitions of the concept in the context of linguistic disciplines directly or indirectly related to this phenomenon. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the clarification of scientific ideas about the content of the term “image”, its specificity, parameters of interaction and correlation. Concludes the problem of “image” differentiation is associated with the literal translation of the word “image” borrowed from English into Russian.
