The image of an ideal knyaz in The sermon on law and grace by metropolitan Hilarion

The article reveals the essence of state-legal views of one of the most recognized authors of the Middle Ages in Russia. The Hilarion's doctrine of parity of all peoples, his theory of world history as a gradual and equal communication of all peoples with Christianity is viewed in the article. The image of an ideal knyaz is presented in the interpretation of the church hierarch, particularly his merit as a teacher and mentor of our land. One of the aspects of the published work is the demonstration of the original nature of thenadays sources of law.
