The onset of industrialization and modernization in the second half of the twentieth century largely left negative impact on the culture and moral traditions of India and Russia - destroying the connection between generations, between a mother and her children. Kamala Markandaya ("Nectar in a Sieve"), Valentin Rasputin ("Deadline") have created images of rural mothers who did not respond to rapid changes in time, and by their strong will and love saved their home and children from decay.
