In the article an attempt is undertaken to analyse the works written by V.Bogomolov, the Perm writer of great originality, in the aspect of the art antinomies. The models of reflection of «eternal» oppositions of Russian literature in the author’s short prose are built, their significance, filling and specificity are revealed. New interpretation of the archetype «parents and children» in the stories by V.Bogomolov is regarded as well as the interaction of the traditional and the specific in solving the “eternal” problem of the «city or country». The major opposition, the most important for the artistic world of the stories by V.Bogomolov, which fully reveals the evolution of the author’s views and complies with the spiritual space of contemporary Russian literature – «belief and unbelief» is analysed.
