The image of Russia in modern mass media (on the example of materials of Russian-language online news aggregators)

The formation of a positive image of the country is a key task of the government of any modern state. The article presents the results of the study of the image of Russia presented in Russian-language online news aggregators. The choice of the global Internet space as a material for studying data is due to the fact that it is an inexhaustible and constantly updated source of up-to-date information, a kind of “global library of global dimensions” that has no geographical and national borders, which can be accessed from anywhere in the world. As a research method, the article used a content analysis of the materials of three leading Russian-language news aggregators - RIA Novosti, Rossiyskaya Gazeta and Moskovsky Komsomolets for the period from 01.01.2021 to 30.07.2021. The analysis made it possible to identify the main components of the multifaceted image of Russia, as well as the factors that influence its formation.
