The figure of a Russian writer in M. Saltykov-Shchedrin's works: autobiographical and historical principles

The article is devoted to the image in the works of Russian writer M. Saltykov-Shchedrin. On the material of artistic works, correspondence writer, analysis of his personal and artistic contacts shows how development Saltykov hero close to himself, was a step towards the creation of the image of the hero of the 1880s.
