The image of the buffoon (scomorokh) in the poetical works of N. I. Tryapkin

The subject of the article is the image of the buffoon in the poems of N. Tryapkin. In Russian literature the image of the scomorokh has been preserved as a historical image of unsurpassed artistry, dexterity, cunning, wit, cynicism. In the poet’s works the image of the scomorokh is transformed into that of a clown, jester and Joker, the embodiment of the Russian national character.
