Image of the wanderer in the Russian culture of the Silver Age

The image, metaphor and specific historical phenomenon of wandering is considered in this paper not only as an important part of the Russian Orthodox culture, but also as a manifestation of Cosmism. Thinkers and cosmist painters largely prepared the 'nomadic' self-consciousness of the Art Nouveau age.
