The image of the arrow of time in the culture of Russian postmodernism

The article analyzes the novel of V. Pelevin “The Yellow Arrow” in order to understand the meaningfulness of Russian postmodernism that has philosophical and dialectic nature and seeks to define the oppositions of “life and death”, “spiritual and material”, “movement and statics”, “continuity and discreteness”. The study defines the key symbolic images and concepts such as path, movement, arrow, time that are typical for modern watershed era. The discovery of V. Pelevin is the color symbolism of the golden yellow key points in the scenario of the novel. It is concluded about the deep philosophical basis of the story where the author leads the reader to think about the vector of the personality’s development and its responsibility for the future because at the moment it is created by thoughts and actions of the human himself.
