The article analyzes the image of the businessmen, industrialist and manufacturers, presented in Russian literature. It is proved that it has negative characteristics and generates negative stereotypes. These include, for example, understanding of the world business people as "the dark kingdom". Businessmen, industrialist and manufacturers are associated with moral decay. The author gives examples which prove that Russian literature contributed to the formation of social stereotypes that big money earned illegally. The author concludes that industrialization heroes have not found a full life in the pages of Russian classical literature. Image of a businessman, industrialist, manufacturer, cultured in Russian literature for decades, has influenced the language picture of the world and formed a negative stereotype of the modern business person.
