Tmutarakan principality foundation and its relations with the North Caucasus nations in the second half of the 10th - the early 11th centuries

Basing upon the research of some Old Russian and Arabic-Persian sources the article deals with the poorly studied issue of the national history that is the foundation of the Tmutarakan principality, and its role in the development of the relations between the Old Russian state and the North Caucasus nations in the second half of the 10th - the early 11th centuries.
