General characteristics of single-industry territories: trends and issues

The article deals with the specifics of single-industry areas, identifies the problems of their development and the factors that slow economic growth in single-industry towns. Based on the analysis of the prerequisites for the realization of the potential concentrated in single-industry towns, the ways of solving these problems through the development of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the development and modernization of urban enterprises are proposed.
