The general statement and scheme performing safe polymer composite materials aviation design adapted to their damageability

The approach to the creation of safe polymer composite materials aviation design is stated. The approach is based on the combination of probabilistic methods and constructive-technological means of ensuring operational survivability, which lets us achieve the high safety design and weight efficiency. The main ways to increase the weight and cost-effectiveness of polymer composite materials and operational survivability characteristics of the interaction with these figures are proposed. The criteria of the selection of materials by the level of damages which may occur and the methods of the repair process, the operating processes - in the occurring technological defects and quality control methods, the limits for overall dimensions, a typical batch size and performance, as well as regulatory requirements technical support, are proposed. Identified a number of criteria for the selection of design solutions that are directly related to the design and manufacture of structural elements of the safe polymer composite materials.
